Located in Brookvale, New South Wales, Manly Spirits Co. offers a standout twist on local adventure—an immersive Cocktail Masterclass that dives deep into the craft of mixology. Far from the typical outdoor activity, this experience bridges the gap between nature’s raw ingredients and the art of cocktail creation, all set within the dynamic urban distillery environment of this award-winning producer. Situated in the Winbourne Industrial Estate, the distillery cleverly taps into Australia’s native botanicals, transforming them into vibrant spirits and signature cocktails that reflect the country’s distinctive terroir.
Each Friday evening, participants gather for a two-hour hands-on masterclass led by a professional mixologist. You’ll learn how to shake, stir, and strain three unique cocktails inspired by native Australian botanicals—the same flavors that fuel the spirits crafted on-site. This isn’t just about recipes; it’s about understanding the stories behind each drink and how these native elements shape the flavor profile. The workshop is designed to be interactive and welcoming, whether you’re an aspiring home bartender or just eager to sharpen your drink-making skills.
Complementing the cocktail education is a thoughtfully prepared cheese and antipasto board, featuring a selection of artisan cheeses, cured meats, and crackers—ideal for pairing with the drinks you create. The intimate setting allows time for questions, experimentation, and socializing, making it a unique spot to unwind after outdoor excursions in the Sydney region.
What sets Manly Spirits Co. apart is its commitment to native botanicals and artisanal distilling practices, carving a niche in Australia’s growing craft spirits scene. Visitors leave not only with new skills but also with a $10 voucher toward purchasing a full-sized bottle, ensuring the experience resonates beyond the tasting room.
While Brookvale is known for its proximity to some of Sydney’s best coastal trails and national parks, Manly Spirits Co. adds a refreshing urban-alpine hybrid to the adventure mix. This masterclass fits perfectly as a sophisticated capstone to an active day in New South Wales.
