About

Thames Canoe Hire will be introducing SUPs to our range of water sports equipment for hire in the coming year. SUP (Stand Up Paddleboarding) is one of the fastest growing water sports around and can be thought of as a mixture of kayaking and surfing. SUPs are larger and more buoyant than normal surfboards, which helps you balance as you propel yourself along with the paddle. Why not come down and give it a try?

Adventure Tips

Start Early for Calm Waters

River winds are lightest in the morning, providing smoother conditions for SUP paddling.

Safety first—always wear a life jacket when on the water, even if you’re an experienced paddler.

Check the Weather Forecast

River conditions can change with the weather; avoid paddling during heavy rain or strong wind events.
