Monteverde grew into an eco‑tourism center in the mid‑20th century; parks like Selvatura emerged to protect cloud‑forest habitat while providing education and income to local communities.
Selvatura charges park fees that support research and habitat management; visitors should stay on marked trails, avoid touching wildlife, and carry out trash.
Selvatura Park operates guided outdoor trips and adventures with an emphasis on safety, stewardship, and memorable experiences.
