The salt-slick wind cuts across the open seat as you lift off from the hire depot in Agnes Water, the town’s low-rise shops sliding past and the ocean already twitching at the edge of the road. A 50cc scooter lets you thread quiet coastal lanes, slip into shaded back streets, and pull up at small beaches without hunting for parking. The route to Seventeen Seventy (1770) is short but richly varied: coastal spits, grassy dunes and low coastal woodland move past in a steady sequence.
