You push off from the car park behind Coles and instantly the town’s heat gives way to a different climate: the rainforest closes in, humidity settling on your arms, birds calling above the canopy. The route snakes from farmland into ancient trees, climbs ridgelines and then rewards you with the Bump Track’s famous descent into Port Douglas — a fast, rooty run that drops toward the coast and the town below.

Riders should have moderate fitness and basic off‑road skills; routes are self‑paced but include short climbs and technical descents.
The tour typically includes bike use, helmet, backpack, PLB/GPS device, maps, and a shuttle to selected trailheads.
Some routes pass creeks or swimming holes; availability depends on recent rainfall and safety — ask staff for recommended spots.
Trails cross land traditionally owned by the Kuku Yalanji people and later areas that supported sugarcane and small‑scale farming; the rainforest here is among the oldest on Earth.
Many trails sit near Daintree and coastal catchments; stick to marked tracks, avoid crossing streams unnecessarily and pack out waste to reduce impacts.
