About This Adventure

Discover the charm of Winston-Salem's Historic Washington Park District on a unique Segway-style adventure. Glide through Old Salem, explore stunning restored residences, and uncover hidden gems of North Carolina's history. Experience vibrant landmarks, from a church turned dance hall to a historic nursing home, in this captivating urban exploration.

Explore Winston-Salem's grand Historic Washington Park District beginning into Old Salem and departing thru UNC-SA. Travel Segway-style alongside the City's largest indoor swimming pool (home of the SeaDragons swim team, Chris Paul's basketball camp, Josh Howard's climbing wall) & then "glide" down+under Main Street into Old Salem (& Salem College), upon our City Strollway, around a traffic circle, onto the Greenway, along & over a creek, into (& throughout) the historic Washington Park neighborhood &, finally, up into UNC-SA to discover an array of stunning restored residences and a remarkably hidden North Carolina education "gem" in a most-notable historic downtown neighborhood often overlooked in Winston-Salem.

Learn why Winston-Salem would ever have an historic area named after a President, as-well-as where some of the City's earliest movers & shakers lived. And which residences were provided their own trolley stops!

Your Historic Washington Park & UNCSA adventure features:

  • Church turned dance hall
  • Old Salem house replica
  • Active 1915 church building
  • Symbolic drained lake
