Parking Lot A in Stanton, Kentucky, United States offers a straightforward solution for travelers looking to leave their vehicle overnight while they explore the Red River Gorge and surrounding state parks. Situated just off the town's main routes, Lot A balances convenience, security, and predictable pricing billed per vehicle per night so you can plan outdoor days without worrying about where your car ends up. The lot's key features are easy vehicle access, well marked stalls, and a clear 24 hour schedule that begins at eight o'clock in the morning and ends at eight o'clock on your final checkout day. The reservation is sold as a per night product—one night on Monday means checkout at eight AM Tuesday—and the maximum continuous stay is seven nights, which makes Lot A a good base for multi day climbing trips, extended hikes, or paddling expeditions on nearby creeks. Stanton functions as a practical gateway to Powell County recreation: sandstone cliffs, steep ravines, oak hickory forest, and dozens of route options for climbers and hikers lie within short drives. Wildlife in the area commonly includes white tailed deer and migratory songbirds, and the regional geology is defined by layered sandstone typical of the outer Cumberland Plateau. Practical details matter: Lot A charges per vehicle per night, follows the posted eight AM checkout, and does not advertise electrical hookups, sheltered storage, or an on site attendant. Bring locks, basic tools, and emergency supplies if you plan to leave equipment in your vehicle. There are no published age or group size restrictions on the listing, and language support is not specified. Why note a parking lot in a travel guide? Reliable vehicle staging is an unsung necessity for successful outdoor trips. Lot A removes logistical friction so you can focus on the route, the rope, or the river. For climbers chasing first light, hikers moving through long days, and families staging town and trail loops, a dependable overnight lot changes the whole itinerary.
