Steam rises off the harbour as you step from Circular Quay into a maze of narrow lanes and limestone gutters that the city grew up around. The game begins on a phone screen: fifteen cryptic prompts that send you left into laneways of painted brick, right past a mahogany door marked by a tiny plaque, then toward a square where gulls wheel like punctuation marks.
