This is one of the premier sea kayak destinations in Australia.

Take a real sea kayak adventure trip to Wilson’s Promontory, Victoria! Be guided for three days to secluded marine areas and pristine islands. Explore some of Australia’s best regions by sea kayak… now that’s an adventure!

This is a unique, once-in-a-life-time adventure. Corner Inlet is a spectacular area of granite rocks plunging into azure, clear water. Stunning pink granite rocks separate the coves. Large sections of Corner Inlet are a marine national park. This area is remote and stunning.

Islands to explore, bring a hammock, snorkeling gear, fishing line, a book or explore the coast line by sea kayak each day.

Day 1

  • Upon arrival & introductions, life jackets and spray decks are fitted and kayaks rudder systems adjusted.
  • Kayak are packed with camping gear, water and food. (allow 60 - 90 minutes)
  • Safety briefing is conducted
  • The group will then practise some basic paddling skills in the water.
  • Paddle for 2 – 3 hours across Corner Inlet to Tin Mine Cove or a camp on Snake Island (depends on the weather conditions).
  • Lunch stop is usually along the way at a beach (depending on time of departure).

Day 2

  • There are various options, depending on the weather. This is one of the most spectacular and scenic areas in Australia!
  • Paddle to Bennison Island, Granite Island or Biddies Cove.
  • Alternative activities are bushwalking and snorkelling.
  • Bring your snorkelling gear so you can get a good glimpse of the abundant marine life in the area.
  • You might also see dolphins, seals, sea eagles, cormorants and Cape Baron geese on the journey.

Day 3

  • Return journey to the mainland, proud of a truly amazing achievement!

Extra Information

  • It is recommended that people wishing to undertake a multi day tour participate in a full day tour before hand. Good general fitness is required.
  • An equipment list and menu suggestions will be provided upon booking
  • Participants wishing to paddle in a single kayak need to provide proof of their sea kayaking experience before hand.

Start & Finish Point: Launch area in front of Port Welshpool General Store

Time: Please arrive by 9:30am (unless notified of a different time. Exact launch time TBC - tide dependant. Returning by approx. 3pm on final day - again this is tide and weather dependant. We advise that you don’t have a black-tie gala organised for that night.

You need to be able to transport yourself to the meeting point.

What to wear & bring: You will require a set of outdoor clothing for both on and off the water. A full equipment list will be provided.

  • Fleece top
  • Closed toe shoes for paddling
  • Quick dry shorts or thermal leggings for paddling
  • Light rain jacket
  • Cap or sun hat with stiff brim, thermal set.
  • Set of thermals & outdoor pants & shoes for off water use
  • All camping and cooking gear, food & water. Hire of tents, sleeping mats and stoves can be arranged.

  • Kayak, paddle, spray deck and safety gear

  • Spray jacket (if required - if you have a rain jacket you may wish to use your own)
