The Trip: It is a sea kayaking trip that may also include snorkeling, depending on travelers’ preferences and time availability.
Our sit-on-top single kayaks are light watercraft that can be used by individuals with no kayaking experience for a fun exploration of some of the most scenic coastlines in Cyprus. The water is crystal clear and an addition of snorkelling in these light blue waters enriches the experience.
Pickup time (if travellers would like a free ride in our private car): At 09:00
Pickup location: At an agreed place (eg hotel - not at ports or airports) in Larnaca.
Itinerary: We start from Green Bay beach and initially, we kayak south just outside Cape Greko until we reach the tip of Konnos beach. We continue south past Agioi Anargyroi cave and reach south as far as 'Kamara tou Koraka' ('Crow's arch') natural bridge. We then return back in the opposite direction via Agioi Anargyroi, exploring more of the coastline upto the north end of Konnos beach. If the sea is calm (it very often is during the summer season), it is highly recommended that kayaers do some snorkeling (if customers like to - there are very good possibilities of spotting sea turtles either in Konnos beach or in Green bay).
The basic kayaking route: Green Bay - Konnos beach - Agioi Anargyroi - Kamara tou Koraka and back (9 km / 5.5 mi)
Transportation: The package doesnot include transportation. If travellers are interested, the guide can as a rule offer them a free ride in the company's private car.
The use of a sit-on-top single sea kayak, paddle, pfd, drybag Guiding the trip in general and specifically guiding the kayaking
Food & drinks Transportation (the guidecan as a rule offer participants a free ride. This is not a taxi service and the vehicle holds a private car insurance)
Confirmation will be received at time of booking. Not recommended for participants with heart complaints or other serious medical conditions. Each single kayak has a listed maximum capacity of 125 kg. But, for a more comfortable ride, we only accept payloads on each kayak of under 100 kg. Travelers can present either a paper or an electronic voucher for this activity. Minors can participate provided they are escorted by their parent(s). In case of forecasted choppy sea, instead we kayak around Agia Napa Sea Caves (if the weather is expected to be bad everywhere, we cancel the trip).
Water is a must (though one could buy in Protaras). Sun protection, bathing suite, snorkelling equipment, towels (especially if we provide a free ride). Please keep in mind that while we do provide things like a dry bag, travellers should be clear that they would probably get wet and they should not bring along things that would be damaged by salt water. The single kayaks are light, only 18 kilograms each and can go relatively fast, depending also on the weight on them. There is some storage place on them. At the same time, people should keep in mind that increasing the weight on the sea kayaking, increases the work they would need to do to move the kayak forward.
