Salt air tangles with city hum as you push off from the grassy edge of Amager Strandpark and the kayak answers with a soft creak. The lagoon lies between the man-made sandy island and the mainland, a sheltered ribbon of calm water that opens toward the brash sweep of Øresund on the far side. Paddle strokes set the tempo; wind and birds supply the accompaniment.
