DURATION:

OBJECTIVE: Has it been a while since you were last diving? Are you looking to work on your underwater skills before hitting the ocean?


TECHNIQUES/SKILLS:

  • Surface procedures
  • Review of proper weighting
  • Regulator clears/retrievals
  • Mask clears/remove & replace
  • Practice controlled descents/ascents
  • Adjusting for buoyancy while monitoring information systems
  • Emergency skills performed neutral
  • Gas management
  • Entries/exits

We begin with a thorough review of setting up and checking equipment, followed by buddy checks. Then we don our wetsuits and hop in the pool to practice everything from the basics of mask and regulator clearings, to surface procedures, descents/ascents, neutral buoyancy, and emergency protocols. We also review exits/entries, and the breakdown and care of equipment. This is your opportunity to get reacquainted with this gear intensive sport and comfortable underwater so that you can properly enjoy yourself out in the open ocean.


DIVER PRE-REQS:

  • Open Water Diver Certification or higher

  • 15 years or older (parent/guardian release is required)

    Any participant under the age of 18 will REQUIRE:

    • The parent/guardian to be listed as the main point of contact.
    • A SEPARATE email & phone number for the parent/guardian and the minor participating in the course.
  • Gap in diving or refreshers not more than 5 years

DIVER RECOMMENDATIONS:

  • If you have not been diving in more than 5 years we offer a Private Update option where you can have one-on-one instruction.
  • If it has been more than 10 years we highly recommend enrolling in an Open Water Course

GEAR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Cert card
  • Swimsuit & towel
  • Mask & Snorkel

GEAR RECOMMENDED:

  • Whatever gear you own, because it’s best to practice in that.

If you are bringing your own equipment, please have everything properly fitted and assembled BEFORE class as there will NOT be time available to fit/configure it during the session. Also please remember, regulators, alternates, and airsources should be serviced within the last 2 years.
