About

Scouts love the opportunity to get outside to learn about nature and compete in group activities that promote bonding and understanding.

We've had Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts from all over the area come spend the day and night with us.

At our Outpost (where you park) we have the following amenities: restrooms, showers/changing rooms, hammocks, swings, stage, picnic tables, propane grills (propane supplied), fridge, ice maker, water dispenser, microwave, coffee maker, sinks and more. Just across the road from our Outpost we have 13 acres of wooded camping areas where your troop can set up camp for the night.

Here is a breakdown of the different packages & activities we offer:

Camping, Nature & Games: $10 per person Scouts will have the opportunity to take part in the following:

  • Yard games (giant connect 4, giant jenga, giant tic tac toe, corn hole, ring toss, slack line)
  • Guided team building activities (hole tarp challenge, pipe builder challenge, kick ball, dodge ball & more)
  • Nature walk and/or scavenger hunt through woods
  • Talk about the Waccamaw River (water color, types of wildlife, types of trees, Waccamaw Indians)
  • Possible wildlife viewing of barred owls

Kayaking or Pontoon Boat Ride: $20 per person In addition to the Nature & Games activities scouts will also have the opportunity to kayak or take a pontoon ride on the Waccamaw River. Chaperones and/or parents will be required to help supervise scouts while on the water. Groups of up to 30 scouts can be on the water kayaking at one time. Pontoon rides are limited to 6 people per trip.

SURVIVOR Games: $30 per person In addition to the Nature & Games activities and kayaking scouts will also have the opportunity to participate in our SURVIVOR Games and challenges. The scouts will be divided into groups (maximum of 30 students per group) and divided into teams to compete in the challenges. The challenges may be done in heats depending on the size of the group. This is the most popular activity for the scouts and is a great team building activity.
