About

Lavengro is a 1926 wooden gaff rigged schooner and a great boat for experiencing what sailing was like in the past century. Join us on Lavengro for a great excursion, a romantic evening, or a break for the whole family.

There is plenty of space on the boat to spread-out and enjoy the views, or hop-in with the crew and learn how to sail this historic vessel.

More info

The Schooner Lavengro has several sister ships, most of which were designed as oyster schooners in Biloxi, Mississippi.

She is named after a book written by George Borrow: Lavengro, The Scholar, The Gypsy, The Priest. According to the author, lav-engro is a Romany word meaning “word-master.”
