After passing through Rhyd Ddu station, the train crosses the summit of the line before snaking down through the forest to Beddgelert, the pretty riverside village nestling amongst the hills.
You have approximately 90 minutes to explore the village, walk beside the river and learn more about the legend of Gelert, the faithful hound of Prince Llewellyn. There are numerous shops, cafes and pubs, and the ice cream parlour in the centre of the village is not to be missed.
