About This Adventure

Scattering Ashes Vancouver

Scattering Ashes Vancouver is a family operated service based in Crescent Beach, a suburb of Vancouver, BC. Our caring staff can help plan your loved one’s ash scattering service. We offer our vessels and captains for your service and can assist you in scattering your loved one’s ashes off the coast of Crescent Beach. If you have another location that you would prefer, we are able to accomodate once our office has approved your request. This is a truly unique memorial service to celebrate the life and memories of your loved one.

Our vessels seat 12 passengers each. We operate two boats so the total can be up to 24 guests. Vessels are Transport Canada safety certified as are our Captains and crew. The boats travel together and drift beside one another at the destination for the service. We have a heated cabin on Spartan 1 which can seat 4 with the remaining 8 on the outer deck or 12 on the deck (photo in about us). Spartan 2 seats 12 on the deck. Vessels have a toilet (head) and are equipped for music (bluetooth connectivity), should you wish. We provide every passenger with a life jacket (worn) or an equivalent floater jacket or full one piece floater suit depending on weather and preference (staff discretion). After, we provide you with a certificate(pdf) recognizing the day that includes a GPS position of the location of the service. Please email our office at the conclusion with the name for the certificate. Our caring staff take the necessary time to ensure this day is memorable and meaningful for all.

The intent of the trip is to scatter ashes. We typically allow an hour for the booking (for our standard service) and the on water portion is a segment of that time. We return to port following the scattering. Please keep your service within our time specifications as we sometimes have multiple trips including our other services. If you wish to book more time please get the approval from our office. Ash is the only thing that may be placed in the ocean. A conservative customary offering of flower petals may be placed with the ash, however, environmental protection and regulations limit anything more. Staff are on hand and can guide you.

Please contact us if you would like to discuss how we can help you plan your loved one’s memorial service. We are flexible and available to answer any questions you have.

Staff will advise you if there is a need or suggestion to reschedule should the weather forecast dictate. If staff recommend, guests should be prepared to reschedule when conditions are more favorable.
