Embark on a half-day culinary adventure through the stunning Wairarapa region, just an hour from Wellington. Experience a half-day culinary adventure in the beautiful Wairarapa. Delight in a locally guided tour that explores various world-class food destinations across the towns of the Wairarapa region.

Tour Schedule: 1000 - 1500 (5 hours; Runs daily)

About

Experience a 5-hour guided tour over the stunning Remutaka Ranges to the Wairarapa region, renowned for its world-class culinary producers. Just an hour’s drive northeast of Wellington, the journey includes a scenic stop at the 555m high Summit, offering breathtaking views.

Your first culinary delight awaits on the other side of the mountain range at C'est Cheese artisan deli, where you'll enjoy a tasting platter of locally made cheeses.

The tour then takes you to the world-class wine region of Martinborough, famed for its pinot noir, for a tasting flight at one of the premier local wineries. An optional lunch is available upon request.

The next stop takes you to the boutique township - Greytown, where you can indulge in the exquisite creations of chocolatier Murray Langham at Schoc Chocolates.

The tour concludes with a return journey via the Remutaka incline back to Wellington city centre.

  • Tasting fees at the first three foodie stops (cheese, wine and chocolate).
  • Complimentary pick up and drop off from i-SITE, Cruise Terminal or selected centrally located hotels.
  • Professional and fully licensed driver guides.
  • Live commentary on board.
  • Private transportation for the duration of the tour (private vehicle).
  • We typically use our fleet of Mercedes 12-seat Sprinters. Smaller or supplementary vehicles used when required.

Exclusions

  • Please note lunch is NOT included but provision for lunch can be made on the day by request.

Meeting Point:

If you haven’t booked your hotel yet, our default meeting point is the Pick Up and Drop Off lane on the Wakefield Street side of Tākina Convention and Exhibition Centre (217 Wakefield Street). Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the tour starts.
