You arrive in cool mountain air before sunrise: mist drifts through pine and terraced rice slopes while a cable car string cuts across the valley toward Fansipan’s jagged skyline. The first day moves deliberately — a 6.3 km ride on the Fansipan Legend cable car delivers panoramic views of the Muong Hoa Valley and the Hoang Lien Son range, then a short climb or optional mountain train and about 600 steps bring you to 3,143 m, the so-called Roof of Indochina.
