Aboard the catamaran you feel the Caribbean flatten into a backyard of blues as the boat slips out of Bayahibe and a spray of salt announces the day. The ride opens with a speedboat run toward a shallow natural swimming pool—an expanse of waist‑deep water and sandbars where the sea seems to pause, shimmering under a hard tropical sun.

The tour is approximately eight hours total, including hotel transfers, boat rides, beach time and lunch.
Yes—operators state it’s suitable for all fitness levels; children must be supervised and flotation may be available for non‑swimmers.
Lunch is typically a Dominican‑style meal served on Saona with local proteins, rice and salads; drinks are often provided on the catamaran return.
Snorkeling opportunities are at shallow reef spots and the natural pool—bring a mask or confirm rental availability with the operator.
Saona Island is part of Parque Nacional del Este; its coastline and reefs have supported fishing communities for centuries and were mapped early in Caribbean colonial navigation.
The area is protected as a national park—avoid taking shells or disturbing coral, and choose operators who follow park rules to minimize impact.
