The tour begins with the sea on one side and a cliff-edged village on the other: whitewashed houses and blue-domed churches stacked like steps above the Aegean. A small-group minivan delivers visitors along the caldera road, dropping them into the narrow lanes of Oia and the lookout terraces of Imerovigli where the wind and light chase shadows across the volcanic cliffs.
