You start before dawn on the Swakopmund esplanade, tyres hissing as they drop to sand pressure and a cold Atlantic wind pushes salt across the road. Guides assemble the convoy, radios crackle, and the beach opens ahead — a flat ribbon where the sea dares you to push toward the dune belt. Within minutes the ocean is at your right and towering orange dunes rise on the left, promising steep slip faces and wide summit views.
