Shred the Silver Lake Sand Dunes on a Slip Face Sandboard!
We offer two styles of sandboards:
Side Winder: this board is a wider, longer board for riders that want comfort and balance as they carve the dunes.
Diamond Back: this board is a smaller, lightweight board that encourages both speed and stability.
Sandboards come equipped with Dakine foot straps and heel straps, and three-way positioning foot pads.
A damage deposit, in the form of a credit card hold of $50.00, is required for all rentals. A hold will be placed on your card when you pick up your rental and will be released once your rental is returned undamaged and thoroughly inspected.
Opt for the Side Winder if you want a balanced, stable ride, or try the Diamond Back for faster, more exhilarating runs.
Bring plenty of water and use sunscreen, as the sun reflects strongly off the sand and can cause dehydration quickly.
Sand can become hot and abrasive, so shoes that protect your feet will keep you comfortable and safe while climbing dunes.
Wet sand affects board performance and can make the dunes slippery and more dangerous to navigate.
The Silver Lake Sand Dunes have been a natural attraction for centuries and were historically significant as a seasonal travel route for Native American tribes.
Efforts are ongoing to balance recreation with preserving the fragile dune ecosystem, including designated sandboarding zones and protective signage.
