Bring extra water
Carry at least one gallon per person per day and a spare bottle—desert heat and dust dehydrate quickly.
Protect your eyes and skin
Use sealed goggles and high-SPF sunscreen; blowing sand can sting eyes and quickly wear down exposed skin.
Check fuel and fluids
Refuel before long loops and inspect coolant/oil daily—remote sections have limited services.
Follow approved routes
Stick to MORR’s GPS tracks and marked corridors to reduce erosion and avoid closed areas.
Sunglasses and sealed goggles
Goggles protect against wind-blown sand and are supplied but a personal pair is useful.
