A low-slung motorboat slips out of the lagoon and the sugar-blue of the Caribbean opens up. Canopy above, salt on your face, the ride to Creole Rock takes roughly 40 minutes; the reef hovers on the horizon like a jagged crown. When the engine eases and you ease into the water, the reef seems to reach up — corals fanning, schools of fish circling, and the rare frogfish crouching in its camouflage.
