A low, humid roar fills the car as the road drops out of the Medellín valley and into Antioquia’s greener foothills. By the time the bus pulls into San Luis, the scent of wet earth and coffee plants is heavy; the river calls from below. The Dormilón River cuts a clear, chiseled course through volcanic and alluvial rock here, carving a chain of more than ten deep natural pools where locals and visitors step, climb and jump into cool, emerald water.
