You step through the SJU terminal into a pocket of humid Caribbean air and a driver waiting with your name on a tablet. Palm-lined service roads slide by as the city opens—first the bustle near the airport, then the wide avenues that feed Condado’s hotels and Isla Verde’s beachfront. The ride is short but telling: ocean glimpses here, pastel Art Deco facades there, the rhythm of San Juan compressed into a single transfer.
easy.
5–30 minutes.
No special fitness required; suitable for all travelers including families and those with limited mobility.
Drivers typically meet passengers at the main exit on the first floor of the terminal; your confirmation will include any specific meeting point and contact details.
Allow at least 30–60 minutes after touchdown for immigration and baggage if arriving internationally; local pickups can be faster but vary by terminal congestion.
Standard suitcases and carry-ons are accommodated; notify the operator beforehand if you have large items or multiple bags to ensure appropriate vehicle sizing.
Provide updated flight information when you book; most private transfers monitor flights but confirm the operator’s policy at booking and allow flexibility for delays.
San Juan grew as a Spanish colonial port from the 16th century; coastal forts like El Morro and San Cristóbal still shape the city’s waterfront and views along transfer routes.
Traffic and short transfers add vehicle emissions—choose operators that minimize idling and use modern, well-maintained vehicles; use reef-safe sunscreen and avoid single-use plastics where possible.
