The road climbs out of Salalah and the air takes on a cleaner edge — a cool, dry breath that hints at rock and rain. Within an hour the coastal scrub gives way to folded limestone ridges, cliff-edge viewpoints and a high plateau where winds push across canyons and the sea is a distant silver.
