The trail opens like a corridor of stone: White Mountains rising behind you, a narrow ribbon of river ahead that dares you to keep moving. Starting on the Omalos plateau, the path drops steadily through mixed pine and plane, passing springs that have carved clean channels through millennia of limestone and schist. The gorge narrows to the famous "Iron Gates" where cliffs pinch to 3–4 metres and the light thins to a cool green.
