About

Access a remote section of the Salt River at Horseshoe Bend from downtown Globe. Travel north through Copper Hill and Richmond Basin, descend Apache Peak and turn right and navigate up a sandy wash past old windmills and corrals in use for over 100 years. This route will reveal amazing natural features with distant views before finally descending again to Horseshoe Bend. Access to the river just before entering private property. Respect any posted signs. Always be conscious of weather conditions in your area and upstream at all times. Part of this route is in desert washes, be aware of potential weather conditions. Return back through Richmond Basin and Copper Hill. This route is 4WD at the final climb to the basin. Folks on this route must have experience with 4WD roads and typical vehicle behaviors.

  • UTVs are street legal and can be driven to the trailhead from our shop.
  • Folks should return machine refilled with fuel. If returned late it is $100 after 30min and each hour thereafter.
  • Allow 20 min for check out and check in. Check in time does not need to be within the rental time.
  • Helmets are provided.
  • $1,500 damage deposit. Customer liable for anything that happens to the machine.
