Astoria Oregon is known for its record breaking salmon runs. During spring, summer, and fall; anglers travel to the Oregon and Washington coast to participate in one of the greatest salmon fisheries in the world. Buoy10 is an actual buoy on the river that serves as a demarcation line. This buoy also signifies the lower fishing boundary.

King Salmon season opens on August 1st. The first few weeks we will primarily be focusing our efforts on catching these large Columbia River King Salmon. Each incoming tide brings a new batch of fish headed to the spawning grounds of Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. Once might consider buoy 10 an intercept fishery. The reward of catching a king salmon ranging from 10-50 pounds is what drives people to travel from all over the world to Astoria.
