Experience the beauty and history of Victoria's James Bay neighborhood and the refreshing breeze of the Salish Sea on a relaxing horse-drawn carriage ride.
Travel through the charming streets of James Bay, a quaint, old-fashioned neighborhood of well-preserved architecture, charming gardens and historical sites. As you approach the water, hear the sound of the waves crashing against the shore, and enjoy the stunning ocean views, with the Olympic Mountains towering in the distance. The Salish Sea is one of the world’s largest and biologically rich inland seas. Its name honors the first inhabitants of the region, the Coast Salish people.
We are licensed to carry a maximum of 6 passengers per carriage; and recommend a maximum of 4 adults to ensure your comfort.
Plan to arrive at least 5 minutes before departure at 469 Belleville St to ensure a smooth boarding process.
Bring layers and be prepared for coastal breezes and occasional rain, since the carriage roof is convertible but partially open.
Space is limited in the carriage; pack light and secure personal belongings to avoid discomfort during the ride.
Avoid sudden movements or loud noises around the horses to keep them calm and comfortable throughout the tour.
James Bay has been a settled area since the late 1800s and features some of Victoria’s earliest surviving homes and gardens.
Tally-Ho supports sustainable tourism by maintaining care for their ‘at risk’ draft horses and promoting low-impact travel that preserves the area's historic charm.
Layers help regulate comfort amid Victoria’s coastal weather shifts during the tour.
