This fun trip is an enjoyable way for everyone to experience the Arkansas River. Small splashy rapids and lots of floating. A great way to spend the morning, afternoon, or even full day with the whole family. Class I and II rapids are interspersed with sections of calm where you can relax and enjoy the blue heron, mallards and geese.
We launch just minutes from our office, and raft through the Arkansas River Valley which starts where Browns Canyon ends and the river opens up. Monumental views of the Sawatch and Sangre De Christo mountain ranges of the Rocky Mountains are the backdrop for this trip. We also pass through the town of Salida, and get to experience the man made rapids in the play park. The trip ends at Salida East access area.
This is a great introductory trip for young kids and adults. Children must be at least 5 years old and weight 35 pounds or more.
