The most stressful part of sailing is docking at the end of the day. A poor docking can ruin a great day on the water, damage your boat, and leave captain and crew angry at each other. But we can help make docking your boat simple, safe, and relaxed.
This 1-day course covers the basic theory and hands-on techniques needed to dock and undock boats in any conditions without damage or injury.
Course Content: After reviewing study materials prior, students will spend an entire day on the boat practicing what they learn. Topics to be covered include forces that act on the boat, engine and rudder control, properly securing mooring lines, spring lines, safety, and crew responsibilities.
