Discover the thrill of sailing Catalina Island with Blue Pacific Yachting’s ASA 104 course, blending expert instruction with breathtaking scenery. Perfect for aspiring sailors eager to master monohull skills and dive into California’s maritime beauty.
Blue Pacific Yachting is a California sailing school focused on delivering practical, certification-driven instruction for recreational sailors and aspiring skippers.
The company offers a full range of American Sailing Association (ASA) courses, including ASA 101 (Basic Keelboat), ASA 103 (Intermediate Sailing), ASA 104, ASA 114 and full catamaran programs up to ASA 118 (Docking). Classes run as private sessions, multi-day trips to Catalina Island, and week-long programs based out of Marina del Rey.
Training options include small-group hands-on courses, intensive “0 to Hero” catamaran classes that allow students to earn ASA 101–114 certifications in one program, and single-day private lessons on monohulls, catamarans, or powerboats (typically 4–6 hours). A full-day ASA 118 docking course provides focused practice on docking mid-sized cruising boats.
Courses emphasize practical boat handling, navigation, anchoring, safety, and trip planning. Multi-day Catalina voyages combine classroom and underway instruction to build confidence for overnight and multi-hull passagemaking. Blue Pacific Yachting’s approach centers on clear certification goals, incremental skill building, and real-world experience under instructor supervision.
These course formats and destinations make the school suitable for beginners seeking ASA 101 up to intermediate sailors preparing for longer coastal passages and catamaran operation. Blue Pacific Yachting positions itself as a reliable path to earning ASA credentials and gaining real-world seamanship skills.
