About

It often makes sense for students to combine 2 or more ASA certifications into one extended class. We can save experienced sailors time and money by allowing qualified students to test out of a lower certification. For those of you with limited time away from work, you can earn multiple certifications within a shorter period of time.

The ASA 103/104 course is a 5-day, 4-night class covering the material of ASA 103 Basic Coastal Cruising and ASA 104 Bareboat Charter. The course is built like a short charter vacation and is great for people interested in chartering yachts at locations around the world.

  • You will develop your ability to skipper a 30'-50' sloop-rigged auxiliary powered (outboard or inboard engine) keelboat for a multi-day live-aboard cruise in moderate to heavy winds and sea conditions (up to 30 knots).
  • Gain knowledge of provisioning, galley operations, boat systems, cruising sailboat terminology, Charter boat protocols, auxiliary engine operation, docking procedures, intermediate sail trim, navigation rules, basic coastal navigation, anchoring, weather forecast interpretation, safety and seamanship and more.

Pre-Requisites

  • ASA 101, Basic Keelboat Sailing and the ability to demonstrate competency in all knowledge and skills elements of those Standards
