A brisk breeze lifts off Manhasset Bay and the boat answers with a soft, impatient roll. You push off the dock in Port Washington and the harbor loosens its grip; the Sound opens and the skyline of New York shrinks into an architectural horizon. Captain Steve cuts the engine, the sails fill, and the water seems to push you forward as lighthouses—Steppingstone and Execution Rocks—stay watch along the channel.

Yes—Captain Steve welcomes novices and will teach basic helm and sail handling; participation is optional and supervised.
