We will depart from the upper launch ramp, then paddle downriver 5 miles to Rays Wayside takeout where a shuttle will return you to the main parking lot where you started. We will explore all the highlights of the upper river before beginning our descent to the lower half of the river. Along the way, guests will have the pleasure of observing an abundance of seasonal wildlife. Manatees are more often seen later in the year down river and we will paddle by the most well established monkey viewing area in the park. Silver Springs is home to a variety of different fish and bird species, alligators, turtles, otters and more! On the lower river guests will enjoy fewer people, fewer boats and may spot more rare birds such as the wood stork.
