Saariselkä BikePark: Adults' Downhill Package on Ghost Mountain Bikes

On the broad, luminous fells above Saariselkä in Finland’s Lappi, the new BikePark carves a handful of fall-line tracks into old growth pine, dwarf birch and exposed rock. Adults' BikePark package is a 3- or 5-hour guided rental that hands you a fully suspended Ghost mountain bike and a chance to test gravity on purpose-built downhill runs and flowing singletrack. Trails range from mellow, banked flow sections that let you find rhythm and speed to steeper technical pitches that reward line choice and controlled braking; every run moves between shaded spruce corridors and open tundra ridgelines where the light in summer stays late. The bikes are a standout: Ghost full-suspension frames in sizes S, M, L and XL with 27.5" and 29" wheel options, tuned to match rider height and trail demands. That kit, combined with laps measured in minutes but experiences that feel much bigger, makes the package ideal for mixed groups—first-time BikePark riders learning to use a dropper post and pick lines, or experienced riders chasing flow and airtime. Minimum age is 10; the shorter 3-hour option is a great progression session, while a 5-hour day lets you string together features and push skills. Saariselkä itself is part of Finland’s far north: a compact village of ski resorts, outdoor outfitters and access to tunturi fells that have supported Sámi culture for centuries. The BikePark adds a fresh, year-round draw to that landscape, bringing gravity-fed fun to a region better known for cross-country skiing and aurora viewing. Trails are carved with respect for the fragile alpine and boreal ecosystems—expect lichen-dotted rocks, peatland margins and stands of slow-growing pine that hold the soil. Practical notes: the booking includes a premium Ghost bike rental; helmets, protective gear and lift passes are bundled per the package description—confirm specifics when you reserve. Bring layered clothing for rapid weather swings, gloves, and a small daypack with tools and hydration for longer sessions. If you're new to downhill technique, book the 3-hour option first and ask for coaching time. Why book this day in Saariselkä? It’s rare to find a modern BikePark experience so far north, where the trails transition from tight forest flow into open fell terrain within a single run. The Adults' BikePark package delivers equipment quality, trail variety and a genuine sense of place that turns a handful of hours into a focused, memorable outing on Lapland’s hills. Plan for long daylight in midsummer and changing weather; short warm layer plus waterproof shell will keep you riding. Local guides can point out reindeer tracks and describe trail maintenance. Whether you want to hone bermed cornering or simply chase flow, this BikePark package compresses a season’s worth of laps into a single northern-adventure day.
