The site is a partially completed World War II coastal fortress cut into Istria’s limestone, about 550 meters of tunnels and chambers rediscovered and stabilized in recent years. Geology here is Adriatic karst: sharp, water-polished rock that creates uneven cascades inside the fort. The program mixes guided history, AV projections that trace military plans, and hands-on abseiling coaching—cultural context anchored by nearby Rovinj’s maritime traditions and an optional local wine finish.
Expect two to three controlled descents for the standard route and extra, steeper drops on the Abseil Plus, including an uneven, slippery cascade where instructors run belays and pair descents. No prior experience is required but you should be steady on your feet; non-slip footwear is mandatory. Tours run about 2.5 hours, group sizes are small, and all certified equipment is provided.
