Yes; farmed reindeer are accustomed to people, but infants must sit on an adult’s lap and you should follow the guide’s safety instructions at all times.
Many operators supply winter clothing layers or blankets for the sleigh, but guests should bring insulated boots and base layers for best comfort.
Some tours include pick-up and drop-off; confirm at booking since policies vary and pickup details are often requested during reservation.
Reindeer herding is a traditional livelihood of the Sámi people; domesticated herds and seasonal migration patterns shaped local culture for centuries.
Stay on marked paths, avoid disturbing grazing herds and support operators who follow animal welfare guidelines to minimize stress on reindeer and local ecosystems.
