The engine thumps once and Nassau’s harbor slides astern — turquoise flats start to dare you forward as the skyline shrinks. Within minutes the boat cuts past low cays and coral bommies; salt and sunlight press against your skin. The first stop is a shallow reef between Pearl and Rose Island where fish thread around staghorn and breadfruit corals, then the captain eases the craft into the calm of Green Cay to watch hawksbill and green turtles graze on seagrass.
