Urban feral cats often found near old ruins and market quarters

History

The route compresses centuries: Republican and Imperial Rome shaped the city’s core, while medieval and Baroque layers (Pantheon’s preservation and Piazza Navona’s fountains) reflect continuous reuse of ancient foundations.

Conservation

Historic surfaces are fragile—stick to marked paths, avoid touching ancient carvings, and support operators who use low-emission vehicles and follow local preservation rules.
