This is the biggest bang for your buck! It's common for people to take home 10 or more pounds of fillets per person. Oregon Dept. of Fish and Wildlife has set a huge 10 fish limit and enabled us to angle year around for offshore rockfish species not previously allowed. Deep Drop a long leader for huge Canary, Yellowtail, and Widow Rockfish.
Plan to meet me at sunrise at my charter office in Charleston for a cup of hot coffee and get a license if you need one. From there we head to the boat launch just a minute away from where we launch the boat and head out fishing on the ocean. Enjoy views of the rugged coastline and wildlife that call it home. Keep an eye out for whales as we head down the coastline to one of my favorite reefs where we will jig for rockfish.
Once you have caught your limit of fish or the allotted fishing time has expired we will head back to port and the charter office. Once at the dock have your fish processed and packaged for freshness. The vacuum packing, freezing, and storage of the catch are available for an additional fee of around $20 a limit. The trip duration lasts approximately five to six hours from start to finish.
The cost of a license, fish filleting, crab steaming. Currently a one day fishing license is $23 and can be purchased the morning of the trip at the charter office.
All trips are weather dependent and as much notice as possible will be given if there is going to be a weather cancellation.
While snacks are available, bringing your favorite refreshments ensures you stay energized throughout the trip.
