A morning on Roatán begins with a cool, salty breath off the Caribbean and a private van easing through Coxen Hole toward a pocket of lowland forest. Guides open the door to the island’s quieter side: an eco-park where rescued and resident animals move at their own pace — sloths clinging to branches, macaws calling overhead, and small primates darting through canopy edges — before the day ends at West Bay’s clear shallows.

Eco-parks often house rescued or resident animals that are habituated to human presence; sightings are likely but not guaranteed as animals move freely.
Most snorkeling takes place in shallow to moderate depths (1–6 meters), with patch reef and good visibility on calm days.
Yes — the itinerary is suitable for families, though infants should sit on laps and people with serious back or mobility issues should check accessibility details.
The Bay Islands have a mixed cultural history—Garífuna, British Bay Islanders, and Honduran influences—shaped by seafaring, coconut plantations, and reef fishing.
Roatán relies on reef tourism, so many operators emphasize reef‑safe practices and support local park conservation and animal rescue efforts.
