The Roan Highlands is a place that will absolutely leave you in awe. The beauty found here will inspire you and carry with you well after the tour. You're certain to walk away with a good photo from here. The exact nature of this tour will be dependent on your fitness and comfort level. There are easy, accessible options for just about everyone. There are more challenging and rewarding destinations at the Roan Highlands if you and your group are able to hike a few miles.

Driving: Eight-hour tour which includes approximately three hours of roundtrip driving from the Asheville area.

Hiking: one to four miles of hiking. First mile is very moderate and accessible by just about anyone. The trail becomes more challenging the further you go, and the views become more rewarding. We will work with your comfort level.

Pickup: Please note that pickup is optional, but encouraged. No extra charge. We are happy to pick you up from your location and return you at the conclusion of your tour. Please check Pickup during checkout if you'd like us to pick you up! We will call you following your completed booking to iron out the exact details! For COVID-related safety concerns, we can also caravan if you prefer.


What to wear:

Please wear seasonally appropriate clothing while being prepared for colder-than-expected temperatures at higher elevations. Rain gear is encouraged!

Camera Equipment:

Each person should bring a camera of some sort, ideally, a DSLR or mirrorless camera but smartphones work! A tripod is highly recommended.

In addition to the snacks we provide, we recommend you bring a lunch for this full-day tour. Sunscreen and other personal needs should be brought as well.
