Rifle Gap Reservoir is a 350-acre hidden gem located in the high desert of western Colorado. Situated nicely between Grand Junction and Glenwood Springs it is only three hours west of Denver. Its aqua blue water is home to a number of very healthy sport fish including Northern Pike, Smallmouth, Walleye, Rainbows, Brown Trout, and Perch. Fishing for all species can be phenomenal depending on the time of year but there is always a good bite at this reservoir. It is one of the only places in the state you can catch Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, and Trout in the same day!
We will be fishing out of a 2003 Lund Fisherman 170 equipped with the latest in marine electronics and fishing gear. There is plenty of room for up to 4 clients. The boat is loaded with absolutely everything we need to target fish whether casting, trolling, jigging, or fly-fishing. Depending on the season and the target species, some days we will focus more heavily on a particular technique. If there are any specific requests, we can tailor the experience to your desires!
We will meet at the boat ramp the day of the trip with the boat already launched. Upon entrance a day use entrance fee will be required for the vehicle ($10). A valid Colorado Fishing License (preferably a two pole rod stamp) is required by each participant.
We will follow the state regulations for harvesting but if taking home some fish is desired we can make that happen.
Getting to Rifle Gap Reservoir early will give you access to prime fishing locations before peak hours.
