The morning light hits Playa Guiones with a low, salt-sweet edge as riders mount Kymco 300cc ATVs and push off onto compacted sand and jungle tracks. Engines hum; palm fronds lean as if to watch. The route threads coastal viewpoints, rural farms, and the quiet crescent of San Juanillo—where turquoise water and mangrove mouths invite a pause for photos.

Nosara developed as a surf and expat enclave in the late 20th century atop older cattle-ranching and fishing communities; many roads remain informal dirt tracks used by locals.
The Nosara area relies on community-based conservation and responsible tourism; staying on established routes and avoiding mangroves helps protect nesting grounds and water quality.
