You step out of a cool Missoula morning and the Bitterroot ridgelines rise like folded maps—sharp cols, glacial cirques and forests that keep their own time. The air carries resin and cold creek-steam; rivers dare you to follow their braided channels toward hidden alpine basins. Your guide hands over an ultralight pack and points to three trail options: a short lake loop, a ridge traverse, and a longer canyon route that climbs into the high country.

No—rentals and recommendations suit a range of abilities, but guests should have at least moderate fitness for typical Bitterroot day hikes.
Bear spray is provided; rentals are for guests 18 and older and you’ll be instructed in its use at pickup.
Multi-day gear is limited—contact the operator in advance. Inflatable packrafts for alpine lakes are available separately.
All sales are final; trips may be canceled for bad weather but refunds are not offered for other changes.
The Bitterroot valley is within the traditional lands of the Salish (Flathead) people; many modern trails follow old travel and grazing routes.
Pack it in, pack it out is enforced; high-use alpine basins are sensitive—use durable surfaces for camping and avoid disturbing riparian vegetation.
