You set off beneath a canopy of pukatea and rimu, the eBike’s motor humming as the trail unfurls along an old railway formation. Early morning mist lifts from the valley, and the sound of native birds threads through the trees as you climb toward the summit. Bridges and short tunnels punctuate the route; each bend reveals farmland opening east into the Wairarapa.
