The sleigh slides forward under a low Arctic sky, soft sleigh-bells and the quiet of spruce and birch. Snow compresses under runners while reindeer noses lift to the chill, and the farm’s timbered buildings shrink into the trees. For about an hour you lie back on the sled, wrapped in provided thermal overalls and wool blankets, watching the forest edge and open fell pass by.
